Tasting Notes:

The strongest regular beer we brew, bumpkin is a darkish and slightly malty tasting old ale. Brewed using Maris otter and chocolate malt along with challenger hops its not as sweet as some beers in this strength band. A multi award winner Bumpkin is a great beer for those who like a full bodied ale.

Product Description

The Country Life Brewery opened in the summer of 1998 using the brewplant from the Marisco Tavern on Lundy Island. Originally located at the Pig On The Hill pub in Pursehill, the brewery moved to its current location the "Big Sheep" tourist attraction near Bideford, North Devon in 2002. Due to increasing demand for its beers, Country Life recently installed a new state of art bottling plant capable of producing more than 15000 pints of ales per week. The brewery uses a combination of state of art equipment and traditional brewing to ensure its production is among the best in the world.
