Saffron Brewery is situated on Parsonage Farm in the picturesque village of Henham on the Hertfordshire-Essex border, near to Saffron Walden. It opened for business in May 2006 after the launch of its inaugural brew at the 33rd Cambridge Beer Festival.

Saffron Brewery has created an impressive range of real ales over the past three years and has built up a loyal local following. Several of its beers have won awards including:

Saffron Blonde – voted best beer by the BBC at the Chappel Beer Festival.
Brewhouse Bell – Champion Beer at the Braintree Beer Festival 2007.
Henham Honey – Champion Bottled Beer of East Anglia 2008 – Silver Medal.
Smokey Whizz Bang – Champion Beer at HEBfest 2008.

The founder, Tony Barrett has strived to brew real ales using the highest quality natural ingredients that have innovative flavours and plenty of character. James Pink and Dave Hill have recently joined the team and together with Tony are working to build on the success of Saffron Brewery to date.
