Tasting Notes:

Tar Bar’l (colloquialism for Barrel) Stout is a very dark traditional style stout with a creamy brown head. Brewed to commemorate the famous Tar Bar’l celebrations of Allendale when the ‘Guisers’ (long established men of the village) carry flaming barrels of tar on their heads before throwing them on a bonfire in the very centre of the village on New-Year’s eve. The Tar Bar’l is smooth.....

Product Description

Allendale Brew Co. was started in February 2006, this is the first commercial brewing company in Allendale since the closure of the original Allendale Brewery, which was finished as a brewery in 1887. The company is brewing on a new 10 barrel plant with current capacity of 720 Gallons per week. The Brewery is located in the former site of Ridley' Haulage Yard on the picturesque River East Allen, where beer can be enjoyed in popular pub , The Golden Lion.
